Sisters separated 40 years ago in Korea reunited working in same US hospital
http://gu.com/p/4d7m4/sblThis week we will practice description of people. Can you describe yourself to a twin sister that you didn't know you had?
If you prefer to write an essay about twins here you can comment the following:
"Genetics are a major factor in shaping who we are. Our personality is related to our genes and there is not so much we can do to change it"
Do you agree? Do you believe it and if so, do you think it's a godd or a bad thing?
Are you similar to other people in your family?
What an amazing story! I couldn’t believe the coincidences. After reading the article, many questions came into my head, like: “I wonder whether they felt a special bond as soon as they met, as they were related?” “What would it be like to meet a member of your family after being separated for such a long period of time?” I imagine that it was very emotional.
ResponEliminaIt is a mystery to me, the effect that genetics has on our personality. I am very similar and very different to close members of my family, for instance. I share strong physical and behavioral resemblances with my sister; although with my brother I differ in many ways. I wonder whether our genetics give us a sort of framework within which our personalities and physical characteristics develop. And perhaps, within this framework, there is a lot of room to maneuver; a lot of room for change to take place. I don’t like to think that things are set in stone. I also wonder: can our genetics be actively changed throughout the course of our lives, by the things that we do?
Within this topic, many questions open up. And I think that it is important to keep it this way. Otherwise, don’t we get weighed down with assumptions and conclusions, which prevent learning and progress?
